Annual Fee Information
Membership in the Auburn Bay Residents Association (ABRA) is automatic and mandatory with the purchase of a home in Auburn Bay. The payment of dues, which is reviewed and established annually, is secured by an encumbrance (subject to upward adjustment for inflation) registered on the Certificate of Title of each member’s property. The Association, including the operation of Auburn House, is administered by a Board of Directors made up of resident representatives. Annual Fees for 2026/2027 are:
- Standard – $523.92 (including GST)
- Lake Access – $720.41 (including GST)
- Lake Shore – $1,047.80 (including GST)
*Annual Fee payments made by Credit Card will incur an additional Credit Card Processing Fee of 2%.
*Annual Fees are subject to annual compounded inflation increases and GST.

Do all Auburn Bay residents currently pay a Residents Association fee?
Yes, all property owners in Auburn Bay have an encumbrance to the Auburn Bay Residents Association on their Certificate of Title.

The Residents Association fees are collected annually by the Auburn Bay Residents Association.
How often are the Residents Association fees collected?
Members of the Auburn Bay Residents Association are invoiced annually in March. Residents Association fees are due annually on April 1st.
Where is the money from theResident association fees spent?
The Auburn Bay Residents Association (ABRA) sends audited financial statements to every member prior to the Annual General Meeting. Funds collected by the ABRA contribute to the following:
- Auburn House operating costs, including the park, utilities, property taxes, insurance, salaries, etc.
- Landscaping and maintenance, including Auburn House maintenance, Auburn House park landscaping, and enhanced maintenance of Auburn Bay boulevards and entryways.

How does paying the Residents Association fee benefit Auburn Bay residents?
Auburn Bay residents benefit by having certain amenities and assets, such as a lake, that usually would not be provided because the City of Calgary would not normally accept responsibility for their maintenance. Auburn Bay Residents also benefit from the following:
- Enhanced maintenance of City of Calgary medians and boulevards (certain communities that do not have a Residents Association have petitioned the City of Calgary to collect additional taxes through local improvement bylaws to fund enhanced maintenance of open space owned by the City of Calgary).
- A full-time Programs and Events Manager and Program Coordinator, who create and manage programs and events for Auburn Bay Residents, such as our Seniors’ Drop-in, our annual Beach Party and End of Summer Fireworks, summer camps, and much more!
